This smoothie became my morning ritual when I wanted to reset my energy and clear the mental fog that was dragging me down. I love how it tastes like a tropical vacation in a glass while secretly delivering a powerhouse of nutrients that make you feel amazing from the inside out. The best part is how quick it is—just blend and go, perfect for those busy mornings when you still want to nourish your body properly.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, packed
  • 1 cup kale leaves, stemmed and chopped
  • 1 frozen banana, sliced
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • ½ cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons coconut water
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina powder (optional, for extra detox power)
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • ½ cup ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep your greens: Wash and thoroughly dry the spinach and kale. Remove any thick stems from the kale and roughly chop the leaves.
  2. Layer for blending: Add coconut water and coconut milk to your high-speed blender first. Then add cucumber, ginger, lemon juice, and lime juice.
  3. Add the frozen fruits: Add frozen banana, pineapple, and mango chunks. The frozen fruit will help create a thick, creamy texture.
  4. Power up with greens: Add spinach and kale. If using spirulina powder, add it now along with chia seeds.
  5. Blend until smooth: Start on low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for 60-90 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. Add ice cubes if you want it thicker.
  6. Taste and adjust: Add honey or maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. Pour into two glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves.

Tips

  • Freeze your greens in ice cube trays with coconut water for an even more convenient morning smoothie.
  • Pre-wash and prep your greens on Sunday for easy weekday smoothie making.
  • If you don’t have a high-speed blender, blend the liquids and greens first, then add frozen fruit gradually.
  • This smoothie is best enjoyed immediately, but you can store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just stir before drinking.

Really refreshing smoothie that actually tastes good despite being so green! I was skeptical about the spinach but you can't even taste it. Perfect for my morning routine, though I added an extra banana for sweetness.
