The Jade Temple Cleanse

I created this smoothie during my own liver cleanse journey when I realized most detox drinks taste like grass water. After experimenting with countless combinations, I finally found the perfect balance of powerful detox ingredients that actually tastes amazing. The cilantro and parsley do the heavy lifting for liver support while the pineapple and coconut water make it refreshingly tropical. I drink this every morning when I need a reset.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut water (no added sugars)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, tightly packed
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro leaves and stems
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley leaves
  • ¾ cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • ½ small avocado (about ¼ cup)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey (optional, for sweetness)
  • ½ cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Add liquids first: Pour coconut water and lemon juice into high-speed blender to create a vortex base for better blending.
  2. Layer greens: Add spinach, cilantro, and parsley. Pack them down gently with a spoon if needed.
  3. Add fruits and fats: Toss in frozen pineapple chunks and avocado. The frozen fruit will help create a thick, creamy texture.
  4. Season and supercharge: Add fresh ginger, chia seeds, and honey if using. The ginger should be roughly chopped for easier blending.
  5. Blend to perfection: Start on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to high for 60-90 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
  6. Serve immediately: Pour into a tall glass over ice. Garnish with a cilantro sprig, lemon wheel, and extra chia seeds if desired.

Tips

  • Drink on an empty stomach for maximum detox benefits
  • If too thick, add more coconut water gradually
  • Frozen pineapple is key for texture – fresh makes it too watery
  • Cilantro stems contain more flavor than leaves, so use both
  • Make a double batch and store in fridge for up to 2 days
  • For extra liver support, add ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
